Your partner in grant funding success

ScribeWorks Studio, LLC is staffed by Julie Dresen, Ed.D., and James Huycke, MSW. They have decades of experience with federal, state, and local grants, including proposal writing, peer review, project management, and program evaluation.

Julie Dresen, EdD
Juliie is an accomplished educator and research administrator. She is a project management enthusiast focused on outcomes while creating growth and value for community and education partners. She is a goal-oriented, results-driven team player who collaborates to find logical solutions to educational problems.
Julie's doctoral research examined the association between Adverse Childhood Experiences and academic achievement in postsecondary education. Her results indicated that exposure to adversity in childhood is linked to lower academic achievement in college.
Julie’s 2013 research article, “Increasing Grant and Research-Related Compliance through Website Modification,” was published in the Journal of the Grant Professionals Association. The study examined features of a research administration website that could help increase knowledge of and compliance with federal and university rules and regulations related to grants and research administration. Her findings suggested that website redesign may improve knowledge and compliance.
Julie received a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, two MS degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, and an EdD from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin.
James Huycke, MSW
At Marquette University, Jim graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into three honorary fraternities. At UW-Milwaukee, he earned a graduate fellowship and a child welfare training grant and was inducted into Alpha Delta Mu.

Jim works hard, but he is also passionate about his avocations, particularly motorcycling and music.
